ST. PETERSBURG, FL (Sept. 11, 2009) – Coming off a major success in 2008 that saw a 35 percent increase in attendance, the recently expanded and renamed St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show is returning once again December 3 – 6, 2009 to the Progress Energy Center for the Arts Mahaffey Theater & Albert Whitted Park in downtown St. Pete.

This “super show” is the Gulf Coast’s largest boating extravaganza, showcasing more than 400 beautiful new and used powerboats and sailboats from many of the world’s top manufacturers, all anchored in the expanded floating dock marina and adjoining land display. Two large air-conditioned tents will offer a wealth of the latest in marine services, gear, electronics and accessories, perfect for holiday gift-giving. Making its return debut is the full slate of informative seminars for sailors and power enthusiasts alike, featuring world-class cruisers and leading industry experts who will address a variety of popular boating-related topics.

A mix of exciting special events the entire family will enjoy is an integral part of the fun, action-packed boater’s agenda including free kid’s fishing clinics on the weekend presented by Hook the Future; the popular “St. Pete Cruiser’s Party” on Saturday, December 5 presented by Latitudes & Attitudes magazine; free sailboat rides on the bay compliments of Discover Sailing (www.discoversailing.com) and hosted by Sail America; and the world famous “Floating Cocktail Barge,” located dockside and open daily.

“Based on the success and positive feedback from last year’s show attendees and exhibitors alike, coupled with our enhancement for 2009, we’re expecting this to be an even bigger and better show,” said Dane Graziano, Show Management senior vice president and chief operating officer. “Besides all the spectacular sailing and powerboat vessels, products, gear, accessories and services, we know that our exhibitors are extremely aggressive this year, so we fully expect there to be unbeatable deals and spectacular sales at the show!”

Another new announcement is the “Salute to the Military!” show special, offering free admission for active and retired military personnel with identification. Children six and under are also free. Adults are $10 each, and children aged 6 to 15 are $5 each. Tickets may be purchased online in advance of the show, with a $2 discount per ticket.

Parking is available onsite, or local boaters are invited to cruise on over to the “Come by Boat” docks located on the north side of the show, near the fountain. For more information: visit http://www.showmanagement.com/st_petersburg_power_sailboat_show/event/ or e-mail jzub@showmanagement.com
