ROSS KILBORN – SPORTS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, YACHTING AUSTRALIA

Yachting Australia is the peak body for sailing in Australia. Its eight member State and Territory Associations and 400 member clubs have 55,000 registered members. With significant support from the Australian government, Yachting Australia recently undertook a major market research project into a typical Australian's perspective on sailing. In this session, Yachting Australia's Sport Development Director, Ross Kilborn, will explain the research, the major findings, and how the information is being used to increase sailing participation at nearly 400 sailing clubs throughout the continent.

REINVENTING YOUR ORGANIZATION: HOW TO CHANGE CULTURE

GROW SAILING WORKSHOP

Modeled after the successful Grow Boating "Growth Summit," the hands-on Grow Sailing Workshops will focus on identifying ways to grow the sailing market. Workshop topics will include: attracting and retaining youth sailors, introducing new people to sailing, sailing participation trends, industry collaboration, and more. Conclusions and recommendations from each of the workshops will be presented later in the program.

TURNING IDEAS INTO ACTION

During this breakout session, John Spence will dig more deeply into some of the core ideas he presented during his earlier keynote "Business Excellence—Running and Sustaining a Highly Successful Organization." Here, he will challenge you to examine your business more closely, identify areas of weakness, and build specific action steps that you can implement right away to dramatically improve your organization's success. Throughout the session, you will be taking short benchmarking audits and doing brief workshops to help you determine specifically how to implement the ideas you learned during John's keynote.
